Looking at the numerous components that went into this perennial overachiever, one might conclude we just blended a bunch of leftovers together.  But au contraire!  This year’s blend was very deliberate, the result of many trials in our attempt to create as compelling of a wine as possible, a wine that can run with our big dogs.  Each component brought something to the table, whether it was in aroma, flavor, mouthfeel, or finish.  Aged in all neutral French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Sonoma County Zinfandel

Tasting Note:

Medium-dark to dark ruby-garnet.  Hi-toned, perfumed aromas of red cherry, loamy earth, blood orange, and bramble.  Very complex.  Medium-full to full bodied with flavors of kirsch, earth, and sweet herbs.  As always, a wine that delivers way more than what it’s simple “Sonoma County” designation would indicate.  Also, every bit as age-worthy (and then some!) as our vineyard designated Zins.  Enjoy this overachiever from 2027 through 2038.
